How We Score

EveryoneBuilds rates every platform on 10 criteria, each scored 1–10 from hands-on testing and verified public information. A platform's headline score is a weighted average of those 10 criteria — weighted toward what matters most to the people we serve: non-technical professionals who want a website or app that is easy, fast, affordable and safe to run. We re-verify scores and pricing regularly, and every score carries the date it was last reviewed. Our scoring is independent of our affiliate relationships — a commission never changes a score or hides a limitation. One thing to know up front: our recommendation order is not the same as the raw score. The score is one input; which platform we recommend also reflects how well it fits our audience and which platforms we can genuinely stand behind. A tool can lead a criterion without being our top pick.

The 10 criteria and their weights

CriterionWeightWhat it measures
Seguridad de los datos11%Protection and governance of data: compliance certifications (SOC 2 / ISO 27001 / GDPR / HIPAA), authentication robustness, secrets/environment handling, data ownership & residency, model-training policy, and access controls (SSO/RBAC/audit logs). Excludes code portability (see Code Export).
Conexiones6%Connecting to external services: coverage of the integrations most users need (payments, email, auth, storage, analytics, webhooks) first, breadth / MCP / marketplace second. Excludes the platform's own built-in backend (see Backend & Database) and how easy connecting feels (see Ease of Use).
Exportación de código3%Capacidad para exportar código fuente limpio y mantenible, y salir de la plataforma sin dependencia del proveedor.

How the overall score is calculated

The overall score is a weighted average: overall = Σ(criterion score × weight) ÷ 100, rounded to one decimal. Weights sum to 100. Change one criterion score and the overall recalculates automatically — the headline number, the breakdown, and the structured data always agree.

Why these weights

Our weights reflect our audience, not a generic developer checklist. Ease of Use (16%) and Speed to MVP (15%) carry the most because our readers are non-technical and want a working result quickly. Pricing Value (13%) is high because they are cost-sensitive and "free" is often the deciding factor. Data Security (11%) matters because many handle sensitive client information (legal, health, finance). Code Export (3%) carries the least — non-technical owners rarely eject or self-host, which is a developer concern. Weights are a deliberate, published choice, revisited as our audience evolves.

How fresh the scores are

Every score shows the date it was last reviewed. We re-verify pricing monthly against official pricing pages (many comparison sites show outdated numbers) and revisit scores as platforms ship meaningful changes. Where a fact is a vendor's own claim rather than something independently testable, we treat it as such.

Recommendation order is not the raw score

The weighted score is one input into our advice, not the whole of it. Our recommended order and our "Top Picks" also reflect fit for our audience and which platforms we actively stand behind. For example, a developer-focused editor can score a perfect 10 on Code Export and be our pick for developers, while our top recommendation for a non-technical business owner is different. We say so openly rather than letting a single number stand in for judgment.

Editorial independence and affiliate disclosure

We earn a commission when some readers sign up through our links, and we tell you where (see our Affiliate Disclosure). It does not change a score, a ranking criterion, or the honest limitations we publish for every platform — including the ones we recommend. Trust is the product; we protect it deliberately.
